Abstract
The iliopsoas bursa is a normal anatomical structure which is located between iliopsoas muscle and the anterior capsule of the hip. We report a rare case of iliopsoas bursitis with femoral neuropathy. A healthy 49-year-old man visited to out-patient clinic due to right leg weakness. He had swelling and pain on the right inguinal area about 2 weeks ago. Weakness of right hip flexor and knee extensor was noted as 2/5 MRC grade. Right thigh muscle atrophy was also shown. In electromyographic study, right femoral neuropathy with axonal loss was made. In pelvis magnetic resonance imaging study, we showed enlarged iliopsoas bursa with cellular debris. Therapy for iliopsoas bursitis, we aspirated collecting fluid with steroid injection in the iliopsoas bursa, then physical therapy was done.
